The Print Workshop

EVENING CLASSES
Autumn 1998 to Summer 1999

Content of Course

The course caters for both experienced printmakers who wish to develop their skills and those with no practical experience of printmaking but some knowledge of drawing and painting. The course includes screen printing (on paper), etching, collography, wood cuts and lino cuts. These techniques will be introduced and demonstrated at the first session and thereafter students may work in their chosen medium at their own pace. A list of things to bring will be handed out at the first session. The cost is £165 for a five-day course including all materials except paper and plate which are available at very reasonable prices (amounting to between £10 and £20 per course). Courses run from 10.00 am to 4.00 pm Monday to Friday and the workshop is also available to students in the evening when they can work alongside regular users.

Tutors
Caroline Wendling (Tuesday) Belinda King (Wednesday) are experienced teachers and artists/printmakers. Belinda was trained at St Martin's School of Art, she is chairperson of Gainsborough's House Printmakers. Caroline was trained in Strasbourg and Edinburgh, she is technician at the Print Workshop.

Fees
Full fee: £45 per ten-week term.
Concessions: Three concessionary places on each course (£33) will be available to students in full-time education.

How to book a place
A place is secured upon full payment (cheques payable to Gainsborough's House Society). Places cannot be reserved without full payment. Places may be purchased now for all three terms.
