Saturday Masterclasses with Jane Stobart
Our last Saturday Masterclass was sold out within two weeks of advertising. Jane Stobart will be teaching the next Masterclass which will take place on the second Saturday of the month from 10.00 am to 4.00 pm over four months - 10 April, 8 May, 12 June and 10 July.
The cost is £120 including all materials except paper and printing plates which may be purchased from the Workshop. Only eight students will be enrolled so Jane can tailor tuition to individual student's needs.
The classes are open to anyone but will be of particular interest to those who have enjoyed a summer course at Gainsborough's House and wish to continue to develop their work. This course will combine technical advice with tutorial guidance for those artists who seek to develop their work or who need a monthly focal point at which to assess their progress.
The tutor's specialism is etching and the techniques covered in her Summer Course will be developed but students will also be encouraged to explore other areas of printmaking and challenge their existing attitudes and approaches to image making.
Jane Stobart RE has taught both printmaking and graphic design in several London college. Regular visitors to Gainsborough's House will remember her exhibition here in 1994 of etchings from the Whitechapel Bell Foundry. We are delighted to welcome her back.
